Quran Memorizer from Hamedan to Leave for Bangladesh Later This Week

IQNA – Mehdi Barandeh, one of Iran’s representatives in the upcoming international Quran competition of Bangladesh, will leave for the South Asian country later this week.

Mehdi Barandeh will represent Iran in the 4th international Quran competition of Bangladesh in the category of memorization.

 

Barandeh, who is from the western city of Hamedan, told IQNA that he will attend the 4th international Quran competition of Bangladesh in the category of Quran memorization.

He said that the contest will be held in two categories: recitation and memorization.

Bangladesh has sent invitations to the foreign ministries of different countries, and after evaluations are made, those meeting the technical and age requirements are selected to take part in the Quranic event, he stated.

“In Iran, Mr. (Is’haq) Abdullahi and I met these requirements (and were selected to represent Iran in recitation and memorization, respectively).”

Referring to his previous participations in international Quranic events, Barandeh said he has won the top rank in memorization of the entire Quran in the 45th International Quran Competition in Saudi Arabia

Abdollahi, the Iranian qari came first in Russia’s 23rd International Quran contest.

The fourth edition of the international Quran competition of Bangladesh is slated to be held in the capital Dhaka on December 19-24.
